Pan y Rosas Meeting in Buenos Aires

Gestern abend beim Treffen von Pan y Rosas, der Frauenorganisation der PTS, in der Parteizentrale in der Innenstadt von Buenos Aires. Es ging um die Vorbereitungen für den Frauenstreiktag am 8. März. Mit dabei auch Vertreterinnen des Frauenausschusses bei der derzeit umkämpften Clarín-Druckerei AGR sowie andere Aktivisten von dort, die Geld für ihre Streikkasse sammelten. Auf dem Treffen wurde auch Unterstützung für Analía “Higui” de Jesús organisiert, die als lesbisch von einer Gruppe von Männern angegriffen und vergewaltigt wurde, und die nun im Gefängnis steckt, weil sie einen der Männer tötete, als sie sich wehrte.

Auf dem Foto ist zu sehen, wie Dora, eine umwerfende 70jährige Haushälterin, deren Familie einst vor der Stroessner-Diktatur aus Paraguay fliehen mußte, ihr Gedicht “Mujer de mi clase, trabajadora del mundo” über Frauen als doppelt ausgebeuteten und geschundenen Teil der Klasse vorliest. Sie arbeitet an einem Buch über die Lage des Hauspersonals, und Magui bot ihr an, sie mit der Hausarbeitsgewerkschaft von Paraguay (Sindicato de trabajadoras domésticas del Paraguay) zu verdrahten.

Last night meeting of Pan y Rosas, the womens’ organisation of the PTS, in the party headquarters in the centre of Buenos Aires. It was about preparations for the Womens’ Strike Day on March 8th. Also present were members of the womens’ committee in the struggled-over Clarín printshop AGR as well as other activists from there who collected money for their strike fund. Another issue of the meeting was raising support for Analía “Higui” de Jesús who was attacked and raped as a lesbian by a group of men and who is in prison now for killing one of them trying to fight them off. The photo shows Dora, an awesome 70 years old domestic worker whose family once had to escape the Stroessner dictatorship in Paraguay, reading her poem “Mujer de mi clase, trabajadora del mundo” about women as double-exploited and abused part of the class. She’s working on a book about the situation of domestic workers, and Magui offered to connect her to the domestic workers union in Paraguay.

AGR activists and supporters
